UGC NET June 2025 exam begins tomorrow

UGC NET June 2025 exam day guidelines: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the UGC NET June 2025 exam from June 25 to June 29, 2025. The exam will be held in two shifts daily, the morning shift from 9 am to 12 noon, and the afternoon shift from 3 pm to 6 pm. As candidates gear up for the national-level eligibility test, they are advised to carefully follow all exam-day instructions and guidelines.

The UGC NET June 2025 exam will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of two papers. Both papers include only multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and are to be completed in a single session of three hours (180 minutes) without any break.

Paper I is designed to assess teaching/research aptitude, while Paper II evaluates subject-specific knowledge.

Reporting time and dress code

Candidates must report to the exam centre well in advance, as no entry will be permitted once the exam begins. The exact reporting time and address are mentioned on the UGC NET 2025 admit card, which is mandatory for entry into the exam hall. NTA has also issued a strict dress code, and students are advised to avoid wearing accessories or prohibited items.

Documents to carry on exam day

On the day of the examination, candidates are required to carry the following documents to their respective exam halls carry the following:

–A printed copy of the UGC NET admit card

–A valid government-issued photo ID proof (Aadhaar card, PAN card, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License)

–One passport-size photograph (same as uploaded on the application form)

–Students must sit only at their designated seats, and any mismatch in subject paper must be immediately reported to exam authorities.

The UGC NET is held twice a year to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorship, and PhD admissions across Indian universities. Candidates are urged to stay calm, reach early, and follow all instructions for a smooth examination experience.

UGC NET June 2025: Is there negative marking this year?

The marking scheme for UGC NET June 2025 is as follows: 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer. Notably, there is no negative marking for incorrect or unanswered questions. However, if a question is dropped or has multiple correct answers candidates who attempt it and select one of the correct options will receive full marks.
