Exam tips to maximize score for UPTET 2019

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET 2019) which was scheduled to be held on December 22, 2019, has been postponed.

The new exam dates are yet to be announced. Hence candidates now have few extra days for exam preparation and revision.

The question paper for UPTET 2019 exam is objective-type MCQs. Also, there is no negative marking in the paper. The candidates are advised to read and revise all the parts of the syllabus as questions can be asked from any topic. Cracking UPTET exam requires both accuracy and speed. Hence, candidates are advised to not only study well but also practice mock tests, previous years' question papers, sample papers as much as possible.

Here are some of the important UPTET exam preparation tips that would help you maximize your score:

Practising previous years' question papers: This is the best way to increase your accuracy and speed in the exam. It also helps you get familiar with the type of questions asked in the exam. Many times questions get repeated in the UPTET exam. So, if you have practice previous year papers, you will definitely be able to score a few easy points in the exam.

Refer to NCERT books: You can use NCERT books, which are available for free on the official website of the NCERT, as prime reference material for your UPTET preparation.

Do not leavy any question unanswered: There is no negative marking in the UPTET exam, hence, make sure you do not leave any question unanswered. Smart guessing can help you net a few bonus points too.

Prepare a strategy: Start solving the paper with a proper strategy. For example, if Pedagogy is the section you are confident about, then solve it on a priority basis. Then, move on to other topics.

Use elimination method when in doubt: If you are stuck at any question, use the elimination method. Strike out the options that are definitely wrong, hence your chances of getting the answer correct increase.
