Admission Details:

The Regional Institute of Education (RIE) is a constituent unit of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. The RIEs were set up in 1963 by Government of India in four regions covering various states. The Regional Institutes were started with the objective of qualitative improvement of school education through innovative pre-service and in-service teacher education programmes and relevant research, development and extension activities. The Regional Institutes of Education have established themselves as institutes of repute in the area of school and teacher education. These Institutes have endeavoured to shoulder the responsibilities and challenges generated by changes in the educational scenario of the country.

Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhopal is a constituent unit of NCERT, New Delhi. The Institute looks after teacher education and other educational requirements of the States of Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and UTs of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.The Institute is located at Shyamla Hills and is 7 Kms away from both Bhopal and Habibganj railway station and about 20 Kms from Raja Bhoj Airport, Bhopal.

a) Candidate must have passed higher secondary/senior secondary or equivalent examination in the current year with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Relaxation of 5% for ST/SC Candidates)
 
b) Candidates must have passed in the following subjects:
i) Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics
OR
ii)Physics, Chemistry & Biology
2.
B.A.B.Ed.
4 Years
(8Semesters)
 
Candidate must have passed higher secondary/senior secondary or equivalent examination in Arts/Science/Commerce streams in the current year with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Relaxation of 5% for ST/SC Candidates)
 
3.
Two Year B.Ed.
(Secondary)
2 Years
a) Candidate must have passed B.A./B.Sc. with at least 50% marks in aggregate (Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST Candidates)
 
b) The candidate possessing B.Sc. degree should have studied at least two of the following subjects at graduation level; Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and Mathematics
OR
The candidate possessing B.A. degree should have studied at least the following subjects at graduation level;
i) Any one of the literature (Hindi, English, Gujrati, Marathi and Urdu)
AND
ii) Any one of the subjects (History, Economics, Geography, Political Science)
4.
M.Ed. (RIE)
1 Year
(2 Semesters)
a) Candidate must have passed B.Ed. securing at least 55% marks in both theory and practical separately, or in the education part of four yearB.A.B.Ed./B.Sc.B.Ed. (Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates
 
b) Candidate should also have passed methodology of teaching in secondary school subjects in B.Ed.
