College of Engineering Pune intake seats increased 2022

College of Engineering Pune Technological University has increased its intake capacity by 25% in every branch for its bachelor’s degree from the academic year 2022-23.

These additional seats, for the first time, will be offered to all-India candidates on the basis of their merit/score in the JEE (Main) examination for 2022. Maharashtra domiciled candidates can also compete in this quota.

There is no change in the other admission guidelines.

The number of allotments rounds and counselling rounds also remain unaltered.
“There are 570 undergraduate engineering seats and 60 seats for undergraduate planning to which admissions will happen viathe state CET merit list as earlier. Over and above this, we have 25% additional seats reserved for students as per the JEE Main merit. In the mechanical and computer science branches, the intake capacity is 120 for each course.

Now, the admission to these seats will happen according to CET merit while for the additional 30 seats JEE Main score will be considered,” an official from the university said.
MS Sutaone, officiating director at CoEPTU, said, “The all-India quota will attract students from across the country. This is very important for the college because it will bring in much-needed cultural and regional diversity. Even the NIRF ranking takes cultural and regional diversity as a markingparameter and it will hopefully improve our score in this section. ”

The admissions to all courses will take place under the Centralised Admission Process conducted by the Common Entrance Test Cell and 100% of the existing seats in BTech courses will remain to be reserved and available for Maharashtra candidates exactly as per the previous year on the basis of their merit and scores in the MHT-CET 2022 with other eligibility criteria as decided by the state government.

For both MTech and MPlanning programmes, Maharashtra and all-India candidates, the eligibility criteria for remains the same entrance exam for admission, viz. GATE, CEED exam along with GATE for MPlanning.
