CBSE UGC NET 2017: Five preparation tips for the last day
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will on Sunday conduct the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). With less than a day left for the examination, candidates are in a rush to prepare.
Here are five things candidates should know and do for the CBSE UGC NET 2017 exam to be conducted on Sunday:
1. When and where:
The examination will be conducted at test centres in 91 cities across the country. UGC NET will be held in three shifts. Paper 1 will be conducted from 9.30 am to 10.45 am, paper to will be held from 11.15 am to 12.30 pm and paper 3 will take place from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. The entry to the examination hall will begin at 7 am, 10.45 am and 1 pm respectively.
2. What to study:
The clock is ticking closer to the exam hours and this has wound up the key to last minute preparations. By now, candidates should have studied all topics within the prescribed syllabus for the chosen subject. Even if all topics have not been covered, candidates should now focus on what they know best. Read through notes and brush through the important points. Do not pick up any new topic as it will only lead to panic.
3. What to carry:
On the day of the examination, candidates should carry with them a blue or black ball point pen and their admit cards. The hall tickets are available for download on the official website of the UGC NET exam (cbsenet.nic.in). Make sure to keep everything you need ready the previous day so as to avoid forgetting things in the last minute.
4. Answering questions:
The UGC NET 2017 paper will be objective type and candidates will be required to answer multiple choice questions on an OMR sheet. Once the question paper is handed out, candidates must make sure to read both the questions and the instructions carefully before attempting the answer. To fill in the answer, use a blue or black ball point pen and fill in the circle completely.
5. Be confident and be on time:
Candidates should reach the exam centre well on time. The reporting times are 7 am to 9.30 for paper 1, 10.45 am to 11.15 am for paper 2 and 1 pm to 2 pm for paper 3. Do not be late to the examination hall or entry will be prohibited. To make sure of this, sleep and wake up early the previous night and make a note of where the exam centre is located the day before the exam to figure out the quickest and safest route. Lastly, nervousness is an inevitable emotion, but this can be combated with self-belief. Stay confident and give the exam your best shot.
