DASA UG Seat Allotment 2018

The seat allotment result for Round 2 has been released by the authorities on June 30. Candidates can check the allotment of seats by logging in using their username and password. Those who have been allotted seats will have to confirm the seat from June 30-July 3, 2018. The choice had to be confirmed within the specified time. If the candidates fail to confirm their choice then he/she will be disqualified. No individual allotment letter/ email has been sent to the candidates who are successfully allotted seats in the participating institutes. DASA UG 2018 seat allotment has been done based on the SAT scores of the candidates and his/ her filled choices. The allotted candidates will have the option of either accepting the allotted seat or upgradation. Following the conclusion of the three allotment sessions, the candidates will have to report at their allotted institute for admission. For confirmation of admission, verification of documents and medical fitness test will be conducted by the admission authorities. The result for Round 1 was announced on June 24 in online mode. Those who had been allotted seats had to confirm them from June 24-27, 2018.

DASA UG Application Form 2018

The admission authorities released the online application form of DASA UG 2018 on April 12, 2018. Earlier the application release date was April 10 but due to some technical reasons, the date was rescheduled. All candidates were required to register for the admission process. The last date for the submission of filled DASA UG 2018 application form was June 11, 2018. The given steps could be followed by the candidates to fill the online DASA UG application form 2018:

Step 1 - Registration

The first step was registration. The candidates could follow the listed steps to successfully register themselves and fill the online application form of DASA UG 2018:

1. The candidates had to read the eligibility criteria and select “I Agree”
2. Valid email ID had to be submitted by the candidates. The security tips mentioned had to be read.
3. Applicant ID was displayed on the screen. The same was also be sent to the registered email ID.
4. The candidates had to create a password.
5. The registration process was completed after the password was created.
6. The applicant ID and password had to be kept for future reference.

Step 2 - Filling the DASA UG Application Form

Next, the candidates had to submit their personal and academic information in the online application form of DASA UG 2018. Using the registered email ID and password, the candidates had to login and fill the required details.

Uploading of Scanned Documents: The photograph, signature and other required documents have to be uploaded in the application form of DASA UG 2018 according to the specifications mentioned.

Step 3 - Payment of Application Fees

The candidates had to pay the application fees through two methods – SWIFT transfer or E-Payment. Along with the application fees, the candidates also had to pay the first semester tuition fee. Credit card or debit card could be used by the candidates for E-Payment. A transaction ID was generated after the successful transaction. If the candidates were not allotted seats or withdrew the application before a specific time, then his/ her tuition fees was refunded.

DASA UG 2018 Eligibility Criteria

All candidates were required to meet the decided eligibility criteria of DASA UG 2018 for admissions. Various eligibility factors such as age, academics, residential details and more had to be satisfied by the candidates before registering themselves.

Age: The candidates who were born on or after October 1, 1993 were eligible for admissions. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ University Certificate (Class X or equivalent) or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only was taken as authentic.

Residential Requirement: All foreign national studying in any country including India or Indian nationals studying abroad who fulfilled prescribed admission criteria were eligible. The Indian nationals who have studied atleast two years (inclusive of 11th and 12th standard or equivalent and not beyond) in a foreign country during the last eight years and had passed the qualification examination from abroad.

Academic Eligibility: The candidates had passed their qualifying examination i.e., 10+2 or equivalent from any system of education as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. The subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ Biology had been studied by the candidates during their 11th and 12th standard as applicable in their respective boards. Those candidates who were appearing for the qualifying examination with the above mentioned subjects in the academic year 2017-18 and were expecting their results to be released by September 15, 2018 were also eligible for admission.

Marks Required: Should have secured a minimum of atleast 60% aggregate marks or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) in the qualifying examination.

SAT Scores: The candidates had scored a minimum total valid score of 1800 in SAT Subject Tests (Subjects: Mathematics Level 2, Physics and Chemistry). The scores had to be sent directly through college board to MNNIT Allahabad. 15% seats through DASA 2018 were reserved for Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries (CIWG). The eligibility criteria for CIWG was the same as that of NRIs. The applicants under this category had to submit their proof of either parent working in a gulf country (passport of the parent working in the gulf/ parent’s visa/ parent’s work permit/certificate from the organization the parent is working at). The countries under CIWG are – Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates.

DASA UG Merit List 2018

The admission authorities will be preparing the merit list of DASA UG 2018 which will be announced in online mode. DASA UG 2018 merit list will consist of those candidates who are eligible for admission based on their total SAT Subject Test scores which were received by MNNIT Allahabad. Only those candidates who have submitted their SAT score directly through the college board will be eligible for the counselling and seat allotment process.

If a situation arises where two or more candidates have scored the same SAT Subject Test scores, then the following process will be used to determine the inter se merit:

• Marks obtained in SAT Subject Test for Mathematics Level 2 followed by Physics.
• If the tie is still not broken, then the candidate who is older in age will be given preference over the younger one.

DASA UG Cutoff List

The cutoff of DASA UG 2018 will be released by the concerned authorities. The candidates will be able to check the SAT score cutoff for allotment of seats into the participating institutes of DASA UG 2018. The cutoff will be different for CIWG and Non-CIWG candidates. The candidates will also have to note that the cutoff for each institute and course will also be different.
