Indian Law Institute Common Admission Test (ILICAT) is conducted by the Indian Law Institute for admission into LLM programme. Last date of filling application form is June , 2022. Exam will be conducted on June, 2022. Indian Law Institute is a premium institute for law education in the country. It has the chief justice of India as its ex-officio president and other high dignitaries in the field of law holding very important posts. Alumni from the university have gone on to hold the highest positions in the Supreme Court as well as High Courts in the country.

ILI CAT Eligibility Criteria 2021

All applicants need to ensure that they meet ILI CAT 2021 eligibility criteria when applying for admission. Among important ILI CAT 2021 eligibility criteria one needs to meet include that of educational qualification, age limit, minimum marks in the qualifying exam.

Academic qualification (qualifying eam)

The candidate must have passed a 3-year or 5-year law degree.

Marks in the qualifying exam

The candidate must have secured minimum 50% marks.


Note that relaxation in minimum marks applied to reserved category candidates.

ILI CAT Exam Pattern 2021

The university will prescribe the ILI CAT 2021 exam pattern that the applicant has to follow when preparing for the exam. Consulting the ILI CAT exam pattern one will be able to understand the basic framework of the exam, like types of questions asked, marking scheme, total questions, etc.

Subjective type - 40

Marking scheme

Objective type questions - Each question will carry one mark.

Subjective type questions - Each question will be of 10 marks.

Negative marking - 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in objective type paper.


ILI CAT Syllabus 2021

The university will set the question paper for the exam as per the ILI CAT 2021 syllabus recommended by it. The ILI CAT syllabus will indicate the subjects/topics from where questions will be asked in the exam.

Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, IPC, Public International Law, Commercial Law (Contract and Specific Relief Act, Partnership and Sale of Goods Act), Law of Torts, Law of Limitation and Environmental Law.
