The journey of Gramaudyogik Shikshan Mandal (GSM), Aurangabad, Maharashtra - India, started in 1975 with an objective of enabling rural youth through technical education and skill acquiring programmes. GSM operates many institutions known as MIT group of academic and research institutions. MIT is Pioneer in facilitating the latest trends and technologies of campus, beyond syllabus but demanded by the world, to its students.

Beginning modestly with a technical school in a small village, went on to establish institutes in early eighties with diploma and degree courses in architecture, engineering and technology. Internet technology was then introduced in early nineties with connectivity through lease line, and MIT was amongst the elite institutes like IITs to have access through lease line. Rather it was the first Internet Lab, popularly known as ‘MIT Park’, in the Marathwada region. MIT was pioneer in introducing demands and to render value addition in students with the changing technologies; MIT initiated add on courses in Open Source and other software technologies of international level. MIT again was the first in such endeavor and instituted tie-ups with international leaders like Red Hat Academy, Oracle Workforce, Microsoft Academy, and so on. Associates and Collaborations became next moves by MIT bringing in a culture of more opportunities and exposure paving way for research. Recent tie ups with latest technology barons like Hortonworks USA, and Cloudera USA are in line with the demands making the journey more meaningful for days to come.
