Government Polytechnic, Jintur was established on 23rd day of November 1983. The classes were conducted at the library blocks and Market Committee warehouses. The first course started was Diploma in Civil Engineering in 1983 & Diploma in Mechanical Engineering 1985."

Presently college runs in its own premises near water filter plant on Jintur - Yeldari road, which is 04 km away from Jintur town. The nearest Railway Station is Parbhani Jn. 46 km away from Jintur & nearest Airport is Aurangabad, which is 160 km from Jintur.During a long journey of 24 years, institute has slowly but surely changed the scenario of technical education in this rural area by transforming lives of many rural families and added in the development of society in this area while doing this institute has seen glory of success as well as has gone through tough times
