Admission Details:

The electronic and digital audio visual industry stands at nearly INR 600 billion in 2016 notching 8.5% growth over 2015.
TV viewing in rural areas increased by 30% in 2016, with 344 million people watching television. It has become the most sought after and impactful medium for advertisers.

Internet enabled mobile phones crossed the 300 million mark in 2016. It is expected to touch 700 million in 2021. Such mobile phone users prefer video on the go. That is another area that is going to blossom.
The government’s phase III policy will extend FM radio service to 227 new cities with a total of 839 new FM channels. Jammu & Kashmir and North East alone will have 33 new channels.

Films, in 2016 faced a decline in its two main market segments – domestic theatricals and Cable & Satellite rights. However, digital ‘versioning’ has emerged as a new vertical. Home video saw a decline too.

With the above scenario, it is a boon to get trained at SRFTI’s new course, where hands-on training using state of the art equipment will strengthen the creative process of potential content creators of the future.
The Centre has been set up to provide high-end training in the art, craft technology as well as the business of television, radio and other media. Designed to provide the ideal launching pad for students seeking to make their mark in these exciting areas, the Centre offers a two year post graduate programme with six specializations tailored to meet industry requirements. With plenty of hands-on training, multiple guided projects supplemented by a deep theoretical understanding of the media and its place in today’s world, the courses will enable graduates to join the industry as skilled professionals, as well as empowering them to be visionary pioneers in this rapidly evolving field.

5. Editing for electronic & digital media.
6. Sound for electronic & digital media.

Minimum qualification, required to apply for the courses:

Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Number of seats: Five seats in each specialization

Admission procedure:

1. Written examination: Common paper on aptitude, special paper for each specialization.
2. Interview of candidates, who qualify in the written examination.
