The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) was established in 1966 by the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, in association with the packaging and allied industries.
Headquartered in Mumbai, the institute is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. Also, it maintains centres in Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. The institute is dedicated to improving the standard of packaging in India by developing infrastructural facilities in this regard. Better packaging quality ensures growth in exports. IIP has been advancing towards becoming the world’s finest packaging institute combining creativity, technology and engineering.
The Indian Institute of Packaging offers a 2-year full-time Postgraduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP) programme and a 3-month full-time Certificate Course in Packaging (ITC). Also, the institute offers an 18-month diploma programme under Distance Education Programme in Packaging (DEP).
Indian Institute of Packaging Admission Process
The admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP) programme at the Indian Institute of Packaging is conducted through an all India level entrance examination. The forms become available in May and the entrance test is held in June. Graduates from science, technology, engineering and allied backgrounds are eligible for the programme.
