Notification for Admission to UPSC Coaching Programme In SPPU 2019-20

Admission Details:

Savitribai Phule Pune University has always been in the forefront to provide various services to students. Considering the need of the students to prepare and compete in the Indian Administrative Services and Other State Level and Private sector services, the University had taken a decision and so establish Competitive Examinations Centre in 1970 which was then named as IAS Training Service 
In 1978 Savitribai Phule Pune University authorities decided to run the scheme without the Government funds in the event of withdrawal of funding by the Government of Maharashtra. The Centre’s coaching programme was modified and continued on self-supportive basis from 1978 onwards until 1985. In the year 1986 the Government of India and Government of Maharashtra jointly sanctioned a special scheme of coaching to SC/ST students who desirous to appear for UPSC Civil Service Examinations which included inter alia establishment and stipend to the students. The scheme was further modified 1999 and was completely taken over by the Govt. of India through the Ministry of Social justice & Empowerment. Since 2004 the centre has been running pre-examination coaching program for UPSC & MPSC aspirants supported by UGC under the 11th and 12th Plans. Since 2012 the centre has been running UPSC/MPSC program supported by the PMC. From 2014 and 2015 coaching classes for Bank Probationary Officer and STI were operative respectively with great success. .

 Admissions Criteria

UGC- UPSC/MPSC

1. Admission to CEC UPSC/MPSC Coaching Programmes is based on a selection procedure and a merit list down upon that basis.
2. Daily 2 to 4 hours intensive class is provided to the students. These class lectures are delivered by the in house faculty of the centre and faculties form various SPPU departments, field experts, serving and retired civil servants. 
   (a) Entrance Test (objective multiple choice type) :100 Marks 
   (b) Previous Academic background: (considered only when marks secured in the test are the same with others)
