Savitribai Phule Pune University, one of the premier universities in India, is positioned in the North-western part of Pune city. It occupies an area of about 411 acres. It was established on 10th February, 1949 under the Poona University Act. The university houses 46 academic departments. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. Savitribai Phule Pune University having status of graded Autonomy by UGC. It has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges offering graduate and under-graduate courses. The School of Open Learning (SoL) offers Undergraduate/Postgraduate Degree courses in the various subjects of Arts and Commerce faculty. The medium of instruction of all courses in Marathi and English. The school is enduring to circulate all printed material to the enrolled students at the centres. All study centres are identified in the constituency of University and they are fully equipped with appropriate infrastructure. And responsible study centres are working as caretaker of all learner and provide essential personal contact under the guidelines of school. At the university campus all administrative and academic staffs are always ready to provide necessary information to learners. The school is confirmed that all experience faculty were recruited at various centres.
