Admission Details:

The National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Divyangjan),(formerly NIMH) established in 1984 has so far trained more than 13,000 professionals and personnel in 07 different long-term programmes recognized by RCI and affiliated to different Universities. NIEPID has organized many international and national conferences. In the continuous rehabilitation education programmes, more than one lakh rehabilitation and health professionals, personnel and government officials participated. It has a team of highly qualified faculty members and specialists of various disciplines who are engaged not only in these HRD activities but also in the research and development programmes, some of which are in collaboration with international organizations.

M.Phil in Rehabilitation Psychology: The course is designed to create a cadre of highly competent Professionals / Specialists at the Master Trainer level in the field of Rehabilitation Psychology.Rehabilitation psychology is emerging as a forceful and dynamic discipline in the disability rehabilitation area which however has yet to establish in an organized manner. Hence, there is a basic need to train professionals at high level of competence. M.Phil course and hence the pattern of teaching and examination will vary accordingly. The regular M.Phil course is an academic and research oriented course while this course focuses on practical experience in Rehabilitation Psychology. The passed out candidates of this course can work as practitioners and master trainers in the field.

HOSTEL FACILITY AVAILABLE AT NIEPID, SECUNDERABAD, NIEPID REGIONAL CENTRE, KOLKATA AND NAVI MUMBAI.

Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EBC as per rules. The number of seats may increase based on the decision of RCI, New Delhi for supernumerary seats for OBC/EBC category. 2) Hostel facility available at Secunderabad, Kolkata and in Navi Mumbai. 3) Students of North east states and foreign students will be considered against supernumerary seats for applicable courses. 4) Applications for Government of India Scholarships/State Government Scholarships will be forwarded to respective Governments for consideration. 5) Candidates appearing for the final examination are also eligible to apply for admission into the courses. However, the candidates have to produce certificates of declaration of results from the concerned University at the time of counseling, failing which admission will not be considered even though they have qualified in the entrance examination. 6) Admission into the courses will be based on entrance examination conducted by Osmania University and for the candidates applied in response to the notification issued by this institute.

For admission at Regional Centres, the Application – cum – prospectus can be obtained from the Officer Incharge, NIEPID Regional Centre, Navi Mumbai, Kolkata or can be downloaded from the Institute website

Note: The hard copy of the application duly filled in with specified demand draft shall be submitted by post before the due date. Applications without demand draft and copies of certificates will not be entertained. Applications received after the due date will not be considered. The decision of the Institute is final in this regard.
