Indian Institute of Management Nagpur started functioning in 2015 under the guidance and mentorship of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, one of the top institutes of management in India and the Asia-Pacific. IIM Nagpur is located within the campus of VNIT Nagpur till it moves to its own campus (of approx 135 acres) later..
The institute started its first batch of Post Graduate Program (PGP) in Management on 23rd July 2015. As a new generation IIM, IIM Nagpur aims to innovatively address the needs of a modern India, connecting aspirations and realities to attain benchmarks that are respected internationally. IIM Nagpur would slowly increase its portfolio of activities to fulfill these objectives.
Changes when compared to last year's criteria
The graduation marks weightage buckets for non engineering students have been separately mentioned.
During the first stage, initially a pool of candidates who satisfy the following minimum CAT 2016 percentiles are considered.

The candidates who had applied to "IIM Nagpur" at the time of CAT-2016 registration and also meet the cut-offs shown in Table above, would be receiving an email from IIM Nagpur. These candidates will be provided a link to a page where they MUST express and reconfirm their desire to pursue their candidature further for the admission to PGP in management at "IIM Nagpur" by a stipulated date.
Among the pool of candidates who meet the above mentioned percentiles, a merit list of candidates would be generated based on the following parameters
Final selection
= 0.50 * (CAT Total Score /Maximum CAT Total Score) + 0.30 * (PAP Score) + 0.20 * (WE Score)
Note- PAP stands for past academic performance. WE stands for work experience.

PAP = (0.25*A+0.35*B+0.40*C)/10
For the work experience of completed months x (at the time of CAT 2016 registration), the candidates will be assigned a WE score using the following formula:
WE = 0 for x < 6 WE = 0 for x > 60 WE = x/30 for 6 <= x <= 30 WE = 1 - ((x-30)/30) for 30 < x <= 60
