UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment: District allotment to be released today

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council is going to allocate the district today for the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in primary schools in Uttar Pradesh.

According to a notification issued by the Council on May 17, the district allocation was to be released on May 31, but due to last date extension of application for mobile number modification from May 26 to May 28, the list could not be released on Sunday, now this list will be released today i.e., June 1, 2020.

The counselling will be conducted from June 3 to 6 and the candidates who will be named in the district allocation will get an opportunity to participate in it.

As per the order, appointment letters to be given to candidates after due counselling process from between June 3 to June 6.

Earlier, candidates who have qualified the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Test (ATRE) for appointment of teachers in primary schools in UP allowed to register online starting from May 18 up to 12 midnight on May 26.

Post the announcement of ATRE results, special secretary (basic education) Anand Kumar Singh had issued an order releasing the time-table for the recruitment process. Accordingly, the advertisement inviting applications is to be published on May 17. The online application process will begin on May 18 and end on May 26.

After scrutiny of applications received online and due processing, the list would be downloaded. This had taken place from May 27 to May 31.

The state government order for the 69,000 vacant posts of assistant teachers in primary schools, was issued on December 1, 2018 while the post was advertised on December 6, 2018. A day after the examination on January 7, 2019 the passing criteria was revised making 65% (97 out of 150 marks) from earlier 45% for general candidates and 60% (90 out of 150 marks) from earlier 40% for reserved category candidates. This led to shikshamitras’ (para teachers) filing a petition in high court. On May 6 2020, the Lucknow bench of Allahabad high court upheld the state government’s decision to raise the cut off, and set the ball rolling for recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers in the state.
