State allows over 150 addl divisions in 81 colleges

The higher and technical education depart ment approved more than 150 additional divisions recently .

The divisions were granted to as many as 81 colleges across the state on a permanently unaided basis.

The announcement was made via a government resolution issued on June 23. Apart from this, the state gave its nod to over 40 new subjects in 30 colleges on the same day .

Among the new subjects, MSc in material science, animal physiology and electronics, BA in French, BCom in business management and BSc in physics and mathematics have been granted in the colleges.

The 150 additional divisions that got grants from the state include conventional courses like BA, BCom and BSc in existing colleges across the state.
