The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) of India conducts SSC Junior Engineer Recruitment Examination annually to recruit eligible candidates for various departments such Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Quantity Surveying and Contract.
SSC JE recruitment examination is conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode in two phases – Paper-I (objective) and Paper-II (descriptive). The SSC JE Paper I comprises three sections - General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Engineering, while Paper-II consists of only General Engineering section.
The registration and application fee payment date of the SSC JE 2019 Recruitment has closed on September 16, 2019. The SSC JE Paper I and SSC JE Paper II exam dates have not been released as of now. The candidates who have applied for the SSC JE 2019 Exam are advised to visit the official website of the Commission to get the latest update on the exam dates.
Meanwhile, here are some important tips that may help candidates crack the SSC JE 2019 exam:
1. Focus on technical concepts
Theory and formula-based questions are very important in order to crack the technical part of the SSC JE first phase. The candidates should have an in-depth understanding of all the technical concepts of their respective fields such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying. Check out previous years'question papers and mock tests for better understanding of the exam paper pattern and type of questions asked in the exam.
2. Read current affairs
To prepare for the non-technical part of the SSC JE paper, the candidates should focus on the latest current affairs of different subjects like - Indian Geography (map-based questions), modern history, politics. The candidates should also practice reasoning based questions regularly to get a basic understanding of the concepts.
3. Syllabus & important topics
SSC JE Paper II is subjective in nature and candidates need to answer questions in detail. The candidates are advised to read their syllabus and important topics in detail. Check the previous years' question papers and mock tests to get familiar with important topics and pattern of questions.
4. Improve writing skill
The SSC JE exam also tests candidates’ writing skills. Thus, candidates are advised to solve the previous years' question papers of IES and SSC JE for practice. Make short notes of important topics for quick reference.
5. Manage your time wisely
Time management is very important during the exam. Candidates should first attempt those questions that they are confident to solve. This way, they can save more time for complex and difficult questions. The best way to prepare for time management is mock tests. Take as many mock tests as possible to improve your timing.
