Pune students bag 1st and 3rd ranks in ICSE results

Most Schools Register 100% Passing Rate

: Muskan Pathan from Hutchings High School and Junior College emerged as the country's joint topper with 99.4 % in the ICSE results announced on Monday . She shared the top spot with Ashwin Rao from Bengaluru.

Another Pune student, Raghav Singhal from St Mary's School, stood third in the country with 99%. He too shared the spot with S Meenakshi from Thiruvananthapuram. Both Muskan and Singhal planned their studies well and did not give up on their pursuits. Muskan did not opt for any coaching classes, followed a strict timetable for studying and watched IPL matches. Singhal managed his time well is a district-level basketball player.

Students from the city have been consistently performing well in the ICSE examinations for the past few years. A few years ago two girls from St Mary's School had topped the country in the exam.

Most schools from the city registered a 100% success rate in Indian Certificate for Secondary Education (standard X) examination, this year.

From a batch of 199 students, 23 scored full marks in maths in St Mary's School. At least 75% of the students from Vidya Valley scored over 90 marks in history and geogra phy and all the students from the three branches of The Bishop's School passed.

Meanwhile, schools offering ISC (standard XII) recorded 100% success in the examination results. Girls continued to do better with 99.03 pass percentage as against the 97.73 success rate clocked by boys in the country in the Indian Certificate for Secondary Education (standard X) examination examination held in March. The results were declared on Monday .

As usual, girls outperformed boys marginally across the state with a pass percentage of 99.90% over 99.73% that boys secured in the state. Most schools in the city registered 100% success in the ICSE examination. At St Mary's School, a total of 199 students appeared. Of these, 149 secured over 90% and 43 got above 80%. While Raghav Singhal topped with 99%, Mrunmayee Nerlikar and Aishwarya Mahindrakar secured 98.8% for second place. “As many as 23 of our students got 100% in mathematics while 42 students got full marks in optional subject,“ principal Sujata Mallic Kumar said.

All 90 students from Vidya Pratishthan's Magarpatta City Public School passed. Forty-five of them secured above 90%, 35 got between 80-89% and 10 students secured between 70-79%.Disha Khanapurkar got 97.6% to come first in her school.

Vibgyor Balewadi and Vib gyor NIBM both secured 100% results. Rishabh Agarwal scored 96.33% to top in the Balewadi branch and Shikha Bhatt with 98% topped the NIBM branch.

Blue Ridge Public School secured 100% result with all 25 students passing. Shreya Nair topped her school securing 95.33%.

The Bishop's School registered cent percent result with toppers Devanshu Satra securing 97.2% in the Camp branch, Vibhhu Sharma securing 97.8% in Kalyaninagar and Shaurya Banerjee securing 97.6% in Undri.A total of 71, 107 and 66 students, respectively got above 90% . From Vidya Valley school, all 72 students cleared the exam.While 57 scored over 90%, 43 students scored above 80. Anuj Shah topped with 97% while Raghav Navandar secured 96.4%.

“Many of our students scored over 90% in history and geography . In computer applications, a big lot scored 90% or more with four students cracking a full 100. We are proud that our children graduate as all-rounders, with strong values and good work ethics,“ principal Nalini Sengupta said.
