Nashik farming institutes offer plenty of courses, online admission process begins

After engineering and medical, Nashik-based students prefer the ag riculture field such as BSc (agriculture), BSc (horticulture) and BTech (agriculture engineering) in this agriculture-dominated region and there are many seats on offer at various colleges in the division and district.

Colleges conducting agriculture-related courses in Nashik are affiliated to the Mahatma Phule Krushi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) at Rahuri, near Pune.

The Maharashtra Council of Agriculture Education and Research (MCAER) has started online admission process for various agriculture degree courses for the academic year 2017-18.

“MCAER is the authority monitoring the centralised admission process (CAP) of all four agriculture universities in the state. It has already declared the admission schedule and the process has started,“ said Shrikant Kakde, director of the council.

Meanwhile, maha-agriadmission.in, the official website of MCAER is active for online admission process, and detailed eligibility criteria for candidates is available there.

Every applicant should fill only one application form on the website. If a candidate submits more than one application form, the latest appli cation form will be considered as valid. Among the four government colleges in Nashik district, the Government College of Agriculture, Parola, Dhule, runs a BSc (Agri) course and has 128 seats.

The Government College of Agriculture in Nandurbar, which has BSc (Agri) has 60 seats, Government College of Agriculture, Muktainagar, B.Sc. (Agri) has 60 and Annasaheb Shinde College of Agriculture, Ahmednagar, B.Tech (Agri) offers 64 seats.
