Law aspirants told to fill exam forms before admission

PUBLISH DATE 21st November 2017

Even as first year law admissions are concluding on December 7, Mumbai University has set a deadline of November 28 to fill exam forms, leaving aspirants in a dilemma. This is one of the many anomalies in the university’s exam schedule owing to the results’ delay this year.

Semester-I exams for first year students are scheduled in January. To appear for a university exam, students have to fill the exam form, in this case by November 28. But admissions to the programme will conclude only on December 7, as per the schedule released by the state’s CET cell. A principal said students who are still unsure about their admissions will not be able to submit the exam forms by the given deadline. “If we are still unsure about getting a seat, how are we expected to fill the exam form? There is no co-ordination between the admission cell and the university,” said a student.

A principal said the delay in announcement of results pushed many exam dates ahead. “The varsity will have to extend dates and give students time till December. But they will also have to postpone exams as some start in the third week of December,” said the principal.
