FTII to conduct courses in J&K, Leh, Ladakh

The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, will conduct 3-week foundation-level film courses in Leh, Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir in October this year.

The decision to conduct short courses in digital cinematography and acting was taken after a meeting between Bhupendra Kainthola, director FTII, Pune, Sonam Dawa, chief executive councillor, Ladakh Area Hill Development Council (LAHDC), and Prasanna Ramaswamy , deputy commissioner, Leh.

FTII and LAHDC also discussed the possibility of conducting short courses in editing, screenplay writing and other specializations for the Ladakhi film fraternity in Pune campus, a statement issued by Kainthola stated on Saturday .

Short courses are also on the anvil in other places including Guwahati (Assam).
