FTII plans film appreciation course in Dec

Pune:A 15-day film appreciation course will be conducted by Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune from December 9 to 23.

The announcement was made by FTII director Bhupendra Kainthola during the valedictory function of the four-day film appreciation course held in Delhi to promote film literacy , disseminate cinematic culture and generate awareness.

About138 participants received certificates from Ajay Mittal, secretary, ministry of information and broadcasting. The course was organised in association with directorate of film festivals and National Film Archive of India, Pune.

Kainthola said another film appreciation course will be held in Jaipur. FTII's domain expertise in promoting film education goes back to 1967 when the first film appreciation course was held in Pune, he said.

Since 1975, FTII and NFAI have been jointly conducting a fully residential month-long film appreciation summer course. This course has metamorphosed into a flagship programme occupying a place of respect in film education, he added
