Class XII students of Central Board of Higher Secondary Education (CBSE)-affiliated schools who took the mathematics examination on Monday complained that the paper was lengthy but not as tricky and tough as past years.
“The paper was not difficult, but it was pretty lengthy,“ said Shruti Giri, a student of RN Podar School, Santacruz. Some students who had to attempt the paper set III said they could not complete it in time.
For the past two years, CBSE had drawn flak over the difficulty level of the mathematics paper. Apart from the social media outrage, the issue was also discussed in Parliament. Following this, the CBSE toned down the difficulty with a new paper design. “The paper was direct with many straightforward questions from NCERT and material provided. Although lengthy , the questions were easy ,“ said Rushab Dwivedi, another student.
“The paper was very easy compared to the previous year, but there was one tricky six-mark question in paper set II which many of us didn't get,“ said Ritwik Godha, a Class XII student.
Meanwhile, some students who appeared for the Class X state board exam found their science and technologypaper II difficult. “The paper was tough and the pattern was slightly unfamiliar,“ said a student from Don Bosco School, Matunga.
