The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has said in a recent circular that candidates appearing for the National Eligibility Test (NET) will have to furnish their Aadhaar information.
When candidates apply online for the UGC-NET (November), they will have to enter their Aadhaar number, name, date of birth and gender for the purpose of hisher identity and authentication thereof. The circular says the use of Aadhaar will help ascertain the identities of the applicants at the examination centres in a convenient manner. It says the Aadhaar card obviates the need for producing multiple documents to prove one's identity . The provision has been made applicable in all states except Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya. The revised circular on July 31 from the CBSE said that it will conduct the next UGC-NET for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor on November 05, 2017 (Sunday), later this year.
