3.31 lakh students fill 9.9 lakh online MU admission applications

PUBLISH DATE 22nd June 2017

Around 3.31 lakh students enrolled for University of Mumbai degree courses in the online registration process, which ended on Wednesday. They filed 9.9 lakh applications. Students can submit multiple applications this year.

Only students who submit their online registration number with admission forms will be eligible for admissions.

The university extended its student registration deadline for undergraduate admissions by a few days this year.

June 16 was supposed to be the last date for this process but since students were still struggling to register, MU officials decided to extend it till 5pm on June 21.

“While BCom has always managed to attract more students every year, even BSc has shown a growing demand over the past few years. The admissions’ race keeps getting tougher with every passing year and cut-offs are bound to go up,” said Kiran Mangaokar, principal of GN Khalsa College, Matunga.

While three rounds of admissions by MU will continue till July 3, colleges will be allowed to sell admission forms once again after July 4 for any leftover seats.

“This round of admissions will be handled by colleges so students will have to contact them directly,” said a circular released by MU.
